"Rocky Falcon Cove" --- Here is the rocky beach and sea stack in Falcon Cove, Oregon, near Cannon Beach. There must sometimes be calm, warm, sunny days here. But it seemed like the ocean could just crash forever against this rocky shore when I visited on a cold, rainy, windy, foggy spring day, 2017.
"The Cliffs Of Kalalau" --- A few years back my oldest son and I hiked the Kalalau cliffs, and spent a few days & nights at the end of the trail, just back of the famous secluded beach there. Here is the view about half way there, where what appeared to be a Hawaiian ceremonial platform was lit by a ray of sunshine as I passed. What a wondrous, enchanted place!
"Haystack Monochrome" --- Here is the photogenic Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, Oregon, which I had the delight to visit in spring 2017. This scene must have been photographed billions of times by now, from every conceivable angle, in every kind of light. But it is such compelling scenery that nobody with a camera seems able to resist adding to the world's gargantuan collection of Haystack photos, myself included. I liked the way the B&W rendition here highlighted the misty & windy conditions on the day I visited.
"Frosty Bristlecone" --- Here are a couple hardy Bristlecone Pine near 9,000 ft. elevation in the Colorado Rockies. This was on a spring day 2018 during which winter made a late visit, bringing freezing wind, ice fog, snow, and frost. It's amazing to me how these trees can eke out a living from a crack in the granite on an exposed mountain top!
